It’s been a privilege to serve our community as a Councillor for the last six years and I am determined that New Plymouth District will keep being the incredible place that we love. In turbulent times we need strong leaders who are willing to make difficult calls - balancing the diverse needs of our community, both now and into the future. I want to keep fighting for the sustainable, resilient and prosperous future that we all deserve.

Meeting the moment

At this moment, our community is under pressure. From rising grocery bills, to increasingly unstable employment, things are feeling tough. I understand that rates rises only add to that pressure, and no one – including me – wants to see double digit rates rises year after year.

At the same time, local government is also under pressure. We need to address decades of underinvestment in vital infrastructure with limited funding tools. We need to increase our resilience to weather events. We are currently being subject to multiple fast-moving reforms, and being instructed by central government to do additional work without additional resources.

In times like these we need people who can stay abreast of the changes, navigate a path through, and strongly advocate for our community along the way.

If elected, I will bring my skills as a former scientist and lawyer, as well as six years at the Council table, to help navigate a way through these uncertain times. I am known for always doing my homework, building strong relationships, and being grounded in my values.

Vote 1 to help me keep working towards a stronger community, environment and economy - not just for us, but for our children and grandchildren.

Most importantly, I am led by my values –  courage, clarity, excellence, and compassion.
